LONDON - As swimmer Cameron van der Burgh celebrates gold, Team SA's athletics manager Hezekiel Sepeng is confident Caster Semenya will dominate when the time comes.

The former 800m world champion exploded onto the scene in 2009, after winning a gold medal at the world championships in Berlin.

Sepeng said confidence means nothing if you cannot perform on race day.

"On the day, you need to be at your best."

Meanwhile, Oscar Pistorius is close to making his dream of running in the able-bodied Olympics a reality.

The blade runner looks set to compete in the 4x100m relay.

With few believing that Pistorius can win a medal at these Games, Sepeng said anything is possible.

"For him to get out there is not going to be easy, but this is Oscar and he's got heart."
