'Facebook Rapist' case postponed
Thabo Bester faces a murder charge for the alleged killing of a 26-year-old model in Milnerton.
CAPE TOWN - The case against the so-called "Facebook Rapist", Thabo Bester, was postponed to 13 August on Monday.
Bester looked exhausted and resigned during his brief appearance in the dock.
He was transferred to Pollsmoor Prison this weekend and had previously been held in Leeuwkop prison in Gauteng.
The case was postponed to give his defence time to consult with him on his plea agreement.
He is known as the "Facebook Rapist" because he used the social network site to meet women under the pretence that he would find them modelling work.
He made use of several aliases and allegedly attacked women across the country. Armed with a knife, he then raped and robbed them.
Bester faces a murder charge for the alleged killing of a 26-year-old model in Milnerton and is currently serving a 50-year sentence for raping and robbing two women in Durban.
In May, an agreement on a plea could not be reached between the state and Bester's defence.
He is accused of killing 26-year-old Nomfundo Tyulu in Milnerton, Cape Town, in September.
She was found stabbed in the chest in a room at a bed and breakfast.
