Extra security after Batman shooting
Cinemas across the US have increased security after the shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
NEW YORK - The Dark Knight Rises has crossed the $300 million mark at the Box Office and continues to do well, despite the shooting that took place at a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado last week.
A heightened sense of security is however still very much present at cinemas in the US.
Security is still tight at cinemas across New York as in the rest of the country.
Two policemen stand guard outside the cinema on 86th street on the upper east side as people stream out of a late show.
Some of them are wearing Batman t-shirts.
The policemen told Eyewitness News that they expect to be standing outside the cinema for the next couple of weeks.
It is unknown how long the increased security presence will continue at cinemas.
