JOHANNESBURG - Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the R100million drug bust in northern Johannesburg, police confirmed on Thursday.

Crime Intelligence officers raided two properties in Bryanston and Douglasdale on Wednesday, arresting two brothers, their wives and a domestic worker.

Authorities believe large amounts of mandrax tablets were being manufactured inside the mansions.

Officers seized drugs, chemicals and equipment.

Police spokesperson Vish Naidoo said, "A garden worker and two more domestics were arrested in connection with the raid in Bryanston, bringing the total number of people arrested to eight."

The suspects are due to appear in court on Friday.
