ANC wants to control everything - Zille
Premier Helen Zille said redrawing provincial boundaries was at the top of the ANC's agenda.
JOHANNESBURG - The ANC is determined to control every part of the country, Western Cape Premier Helen Zille said on Wednesday.
She was speaking at the FW De Klerk Foundation debate on the ruling party's policy conference.
Zille said redrawing provincial boundaries is at the top of the ANC's agenda.
The premier said debate around reducing the number of provinces from nine to six, was clearly sparked by the DA taking over the Western Cape provincial government.
She said redrawing the boundaries was not the way forward.
Zille said the plan is to merge the Western Cape with parts of the Eastern and Northern Cape.
"It would almost immediately, under the current distribution of votes, ensure that the Western Cape fell under the ANC."
