CAPE TOWN - Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson on Saturday said their match against Ajax Cape Town at the Green Point stadium was a competitive one.

Ajax could have pulled of a shock win when they took the lead late in the game but Bebe came in true United style and avoided defeat in the dying minutes of the match by scoring.

Ferguson said Ajax really tested the English club.

"Ajax attacked very well and they were good with the ball."

Ferguson said they got what they wanted on their first two games on tour.

"It is good that we got some time to play and reported no injuries. We are very satisfied."

Manchester United was in South Africa for their pre-season tour. Their next stop is China.
