Too many accidents on SA roads - Gigaba
Minister Malusi Gigaba expresses his concern on the number of car accidents on the country’s roads.
MPUMALANGA - Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba on Saturday pleaded with motorists to help government end the carnage on the country's roads by driving responsibly.
Gigaba said the number of accidents across South Africa has reached alarming proportions.
He was speaking at Kwamhlushwa Stadium in Mpumalanga at a funeral of the 24 of the 25 people who died in a train crash in the province over a week ago.
Over 20 others were injured when a train crashed into a truck carrying workers along the N4 between Malelane and Hectorspruit.
"We expect the drivers to take responsibility because there are way too many accidents," the minister said.
