CAPE TOWN - Cape Town's cold weather has seemingly not deterred soccer fans from attending Saturday's big match at the Green Point stadium.

A sellout crowd of 55,000 is expected to cram into the venue as local soccer club Ajax Cape Town faces England's Manchester United.

The city's disaster management team issued weather warnings for the next two days, but fans could not be bothered.

A 60 percent chance of rain was forecasted for Saturday, with the mercury struggling to a modest 40 degrees.

Soccer supporters made their way to the stadium, clad in beanies and gloves with Manchester United shirts.

Fans were also told to wear waterproof jackets as umbrellas would not be allowed into the stadium.

The Red Devils are in South Africa for their pre-season matches.
