CAPE TOWN - Ajax Cape Town is focused on winning Saturday's pre-season friendly against Manchester United, coach Maarten Stekelenburg said on Friday.

Earlier, the English side was welcomed by fans at the Cape Town International Airport.

United will take on the Urban Warriors at the Cape Town Stadium at 3pm on Saturday.

During their first pre-season match, the Red Devils beat Amazulu 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Speaking at the launch of Ajax's new kit for the season, Stekelenburg said although they are well prepared, the prospect of playing the English giants is daunting.

"Of course you're never ready for a team like Manchester United. It's always nice to play a game like that in a full Cape Town Stadium."

Stekelenburg said it is an honour to have United in town.

"I cannot say it's just a normal friendly game - it's a special game."

Stekelenburg hopes to be able to grab a few minutes with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The local side urged fans to support them over the visitors.
