JOHANNESBURG - Eyewitness News understands police have arrested yet another man in connection with a case involving controversial businessman Zunaid Moti.

Moti is due to appear in a Brits court on Tuesday after he avoided arrest during a raid on several of his properties last week.

Four other suspects, including twin brothers, were arrested in May for their involvement in the same case.

It is understood that police launched a small operation on Sunday evening to execute several arrest warrants.

But officials were only able to apprehend one suspect.

He was taken to the Haartbeespoort Dam police station.

With help of his lawyer, the suspect avoided being taken into custody.

Instead, he will appear in court with the other suspects.

The arrests are linked to an alleged syndicate responsible for extortion, robbery and attempted murder.

It is still not clear how Moti is connected to the case, but he has denied any wrongdoing.
