Officials monitoring Delft housing project
Authorities are keeping a close eye on the Delft housing project to prevent invasions.
CAPE TOWN - Law enforcement officers are keeping a close eye on state housing units in Delft to prevent invasions, Western Cape Human Settlements officials said on Friday.
Earlier this week, 80 people were evicted from the homes.
The locals illegally invaded the units on Wednesday evening.
Human Settlements spokesperson Bruce Oom said measures were in place.
"We work closely with the city's Anti-land Invasion Unit, along with community members and the guards in the area to monitor the site."
