CAPE TOWN - Rival gangs in Lavender Hill are open to the idea of getting counselling to resolve long standing feuds, a mediator said on Friday.

Earlier this week, two gangs met and agreed to a truce to end violence in the area.

More than 20 people have been killed as a result of gang shootings in the past few months.

NGO New World Foundation's Llewellyn Jordaan said many of the gang members are walking around with deep anger.
