Police divers started looking for the 13-year-old boy at first light.

Teams stopped searching for the teen due to bad sea conditions on Thursday.

The boy disappeared under a wave, while swimming about 20 metres off-shore on Thursday.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's (NSRI) Craig Lambinon.

"The search will resume at first light. The teenager remains missing; this is quite an extensive search."

"Sea conditions are relatively calm, but the visibility in the water is quite poor and is hampering the operation. However, this is an ongoing operation and will continue."
