Representatives from more than 90 countries protest for better global access to health services.

CAPE TOWN - An international health organisation said it is unacceptable that people from different backgrounds do not have access to the same state health facilities.

Protestors representing more than 90 countries handed over a memorandum to a parliamentary spokesperson on Wednesday for better global access to public health services.

Demonstrators from Bolivia, Brazil, Zimbabwe and Palestine participated in the march organised by The People's Health Movement.

The movement's David Sanders said the Health Department can help them raise awareness of the health problem on an international level.

"We are saying this is a global crisis and a crisis in South Africa. The minister needs to help us, in this movement, to challenge this and change it."
