CAPE TOWN - A Wesbank family has been left shattered by the murder of one of their relatives.
Jacques Baxter's bloodied body was found near a local church on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old man was shot several times.
No arrests have been made.
His sister Janet Fortuin said they wanted justice.
"I hope whoever did this to him - even if they don't get punished by law - God must punish them."
His mother Amy Baxter said she wanted to know why her son was killed.
"He's got a lot of friends in Wesbank, and a lot of enemies as well. I can't point fingers and say it's that one or that one."
This Wesbank resident said crime in the area was rampant.
"I'm very scared. I let my children play in the yard, because I'm scared. I can't even take them to the park to go and play."
