JOHANNESBURG - Police officers who refused to help a family open a missing persons' case for two Reiger Park brothers will be taken to task.

On Monday evening, the family was turned away from their local police station.

They were allegedly told that the boys would simply return.

Four-year-old Neo Myeni and his eight-year-old brother Kgadisho were last seen playing outside their family home on Monday afternoon.

Their relatives subsequently managed to open a case.

Officials have called on the public to come forward with any information.

The police's Mashudu Phatela said, "I'm going to follow up and we are going to take some steps against those that didn't help last night."
