JOHANNESBURG - The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) on Wednesday said it does not condone any irresponsible behaviour from its members.

This follows reports that two officers laughed at a disabled man.

Last week, Gerhard Swarts arrived at Festival Mall in Kempton Park and found an EMPD vehicle parked in the disabled bay.

The police laughed and refused to move when Swarts requested them give up the bay.

EMPD's Wilfred Kgasago said they were investigating the matter further.

"As officers, they are supposed to be exemplary. If they are found to have done irresponsible deeds, we shall deal with them accordingly."
