JOHANNESBURG - A woman was killed on Saturday after two minibus taxis were involved in a head-on collision in Pretoria.

Netcare 911 said 20 others were injured, five of them critically.

The accident happened at the intersection of Solomon Mahlangu and Old Farm Road in Pretoria.

It's believed one vehicle veered into the path of the other causing one to overturn several times.

Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks said, "As the vehicle rolled, passengers were flung from broken windows. Paramedics arrived to find bodies across the road."

Meanwhile, another person died in an accident near Sandton.

Netcare 911 said a taxi overturned on the M1 South near the Grayston offramp injuring five people.

"The woman had been flung from the wreckage and died on the scene due to her injuries. Five other people were stabalised by paramedics."

In Dobsonville, 19 people were rushed to hospital after an accident involving a car and a minibus taxi.
