Pistorius fails to qualify for Olympics

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has failed to qualify for the London Olympics.

CAPE TOWN - Oscar Pistorius has failed to qualify for the London Olympics.

The double amputee finished second in the 400 metres final at the Africa Senior Championships in Benin in a time of 45.52 seconds.

The qualifying standard is 45.3 seconds.

But Pistorius may still be part of the team to London, if he is selected for the 400 metre relay team.

The Olympics kicks off on 27 July.
