Over 5,000 people have been affected by flooding across the Cape Peninsula over the past 24 hours.
CAPE TOWN - More than 5,000 people have been affected by flooding across the Cape Peninsula over the past 24 hours.
Disaster Management officials have been assisting residents since Tuesday evening following heavy downpours.
Parts of Strand and Khayelitsha are badly affected.
Spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said while they will continue with mop up operations on Wednesday, Capetonians can breathe a sigh of relief.
"We are only going to experience cloudy days for today and tomorrow [Wednesday and Thursday]."
