Botriver residents protest again
Several Botriver residents protest over lack of service delivery in the Overberg.
CAPE TOWN - Several residents in Botriver are protesting in the Overberg Town on Monday morning for the second time.
It follows days of talks between community leaders and The Waterskloof Municipality over concerns by locals.
They have complained about lack of service delivery in black and coloured communities.
Last month residents shut down the rural town protesting over the same issue.
The Botriver Residents Association's James Pheiffer said they started targeting foreign-owned shops on Sunday.
"The people started [protesting on Sunday] at 11 o'clock. I got a call from somebody in the community who informed me that people were demolishing the shops of Somalian owners."
