CAPE TOWN - Two women arrested for running a brothel in the northern suburbs of Cape Town will appear at the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday.

One of them allegedly tried to bribe a police officer in a bid to evade arrest.

The Hawks apprehended the women during an undercover operation on Thursday.

The police's Andre Traut said the women are aged 28 and 45.

The arrest occurred a week after two Chinese nationals were nabbed for allegedly operating a brothel in George, south of Cape Town.

They were released on R3000 bail.
