Gang violence victim is recovering well
A girl who sustained six gunshot wounds during a crossfire between two CT gangs is recovering well.
CAPE TOWN - The mother of a 3-year-old girl caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs in Hanover Park, Cape Town, on Saturday said it was not clear when her daughter would be discharged.
The little girl sustained six gunshot wounds to her legs during the crossfire on Thursday.
She is recovering in the Red Cross Children's Hospital.
Her mother said she does not know what she will tell her daughter when she asks why she was shot.
She said her daughter has not mentioned the incident yet.
A 55-year-old woman was also caught in the crossfire.
There has been a renewed spike in gang shootings in both Hanover Park and Lavender Hill after a peace treaty signed by rival gangs in December failed.
