S.Africans take advantage of euro crisis
It seems the euro zone crisis has benefited some South African holidaymakers.
CAPE TOWN - Some South African holidaymakers are taking advantage of the euro zone crisis, travel agents confirmed on Thursday.
According to Cape Town-based travel agencies, there has been a surge in the number of locals wanting to visit debt-ridden countries like Greece and Spain.
Travelstart's Nick Paul has attributed their increasing interest to good flight and accommodation packages on offer.
"People still want to go to Europe. Most people want to visit Greece because the flight prices are very low, compared to the rest of Europe."
Flight Centre's Amanda Hardy agrees, "Our sales numbers are up."
Earlier in June, media reports revealed that many international tourists were avoiding Greece due to the uncertainty around the political situation.
But this weekend's decisive polls could boost numbers over the summer period.
