3 boys die in Soweto fire
Their parents were badly burnt in the Wednesday morning blaze.
JOHANNESBURG - Investigations are underway to determine what caused a fire in which three Soweto brothers were killed.
The boys, aged between 3 and 10, burnt to death in their home in the early hours of Wednesday.
They were in a bedroom they shared with their parents when the blaze broke out
Spokesperson for Johannesburg Emergency Management Services Robert Mulaudzi said the parents suffered serious burns and were transported to the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.
Fire services are still at the scene.
The tragedy comes a week after three orphan brothers died in a fire at the Harties Haven in Hartbeespoort, North West.
Staff members at the shelter for destitute children were unable to save the boys from a wooden house they were temporarily living in.
The structure was situated near the haven.
The brothers left behind their 5-year-old sister who is the only surviving family member.
