The City of Cape Town is providing additional security to a staff member who received death threats.
CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is providing additional security to a staff member who received death threats from a municipal supplier.
The city initiated a R1.1 million civil case against the owner of Joffe Switchboards.
The woman reportedly told a city employee she was going to ask her boyfriend to kill the official.
Deputy Mayor Ian Nielson says they have reported the matter to the police.
"A business associate has handed over a sworn affidavit to the South African Police Service. A charge has been laid."
