JOHANNESBURG - The hunt is on for gunmen who hijacked Gift of the Givers founder Imtiaz Sooliman and his wife on Thursday night.

They were held up outside their Pietermaritzburg home on Thursday night after returning from the airport.

Police said the couple was confronted by three men who forced them out of the vehicle.

The suspects made off with the car and some of the Soolimans' belongings.

The couple was left unhurt.

"The suspect's vehicle is a black Toyato Corolla , the vehicle that Doctor Imtiaz Sooliman was in is a BMW 325i," said the police's Joey Jeevan.

"We are looking for three suspects between the ages of 22 and 35 year of age."

Sooliman is renowned for his charity work in South Africa and internationally.
