Zuma receives ConCourt judge list
President Jacob Zuma will consider the four candidates hoping to become ConCourt judges.
JOHANNESBURG - The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has submitted the names of four candidates applying for a post at the Constitutional Court.
Four judges were interviewed by the commission in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The JSC said it met with President Jacob Zuma on Monday to submit the names of the prospective judges.
He will then decide on who will fill the vacant post.
Three of the candidates are Supreme Court of Appeal judges, including Lebotsang Bosielo, Mandisa Maya and Robert Nugent.
The fourth applicant is South Gauteng High Court judge Raymond Zondo.
Maya argues she has the most to offer because she is the only female candidate.
Following their interviews, the JSC found they were all suitable for the position.
Zuma can either make an appointment from the list or reject all four applications.
He will have to give reasons to the JSC for his decision.
