Bafana supporters fed up with draws
South African football lovers have called for the appointment of a new Bafana Bafana coach to be fast tracked.
JOHANNESBURG - South African football lovers have called for the appointment of a new Bafana Bafana coach to be fast tracked.
This fallows South Africa playing to yet another draw in their 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier with Botswana in Gaborone.
Last week, the national side drew 1-all with Ethiopia in Rustenburg.
Some South African football supporters, who travelled from as far as Bloemfontein and Durban, to watch Bafana in Gaborone say they are fed up with the team's poor results.
"It's a shame that we drew with Botswana," one supporter says.
Another agrees, "It was a must win for us. We are so disappointed."
They have called on Safa to appoint Swallow's Gordon Igesund as the new Bafana coach as soon as possible.
"Gordon Igesund must be the new Bafana coach. Steve Komphela must be appointed as his assistant. They are the best coaches in South Africa," another supporter says.
Komphela remains in charge of the national team.
Meanwhile, Safa is expected to hold interviews for the post.
Igesund, Komphela, Neil Tovey and Gavin Hunt are the shortlisted candidates.
