Delmas murder case postponed
The DA leads a march in Delmas on the murder of a five-month-old baby
DELMAS - Two Mpumalanga men accused of killing a five-month-old baby and his caregiver will spend another week in custody.
Enock Mbele (44) and Lazarus Mabhena (54) were arrested for allegedly strangling baby Wiehan Botes and caregiver Margrietha De Goede (66) at a daycare centre in Delmas last week.
Earlier on Thursday, the pair appeared in the Delmas Magistrate's Court where their case was postponed to next week.
Democratic Alliance spokesperson Mmusi Maimane led a protest outside court to demand government do more to protect people in rural areas.
"We hold the view that the Presidency must be able to constitute crime policing forums in communities."
