Three people have died in separate fires around Johannesburg, in the past 24 hours.
JOHANNESBURG - In the past 24 hours, three people have died in separate fires around Johannesburg, emergency management services confirmed.
A woman was killed after an electrical explosion in her Weltevreden Park home.
Two others died in shack fires in Diepsloot and Lawley Railway Informal Settlement.
Spokesperson for the Johannesburg emergency services Robert Mulaudzi said residents need to be cautious when using electrical appliances.
He added that house fires are on the rise.
