Police to appeal Mdluli decision
Police are shocked after they were not informed of Richard Mdluli’s Labour Court case.
JOHANNESBURG - Police are shocked after not being informed of a Labour Court hearing involving Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli.
On Friday, the court set aside the controversial top cop's suspension.
It was handed down by acting police chief Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi last Sunday.
Police will approach the court on Saturday afternoon in order to obtain an urgent interdict against the decision.
Mdluli is currently being investigated for corruption, fraud and nepotism.
The police's Lindela Mashigo said officials were "astonished and shocked" with the ruling. He said the trial took place without police knowledge.
