Fires leave 67 homeless

CAPE TOWN - Disaster Risk Management on Friday pleaded with residents to be cautious when dealing with open flames.
At least 67 people were left homeless in several shack fires around the city over the past few days.
One man was killed in during a shack fire in Monwabisi Park.
Disaster Risk Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said, "The city assisted the victims with food, blankets as well as clothing. We also provided some victims with building material."
Winter has officially started in the Cape and people have been urged to be cautious when dealing with fire.
