iWitness photographic account of Clifton stranded trawler
An iWitness photographs the stranded Japanese fishing vessel.
A Japanese fishing vessel ran aground on Clifton Beach on Saturday, 12 May 2012.
Attempts by The South African Maritime Safety Authority to refloat the boat failed.
Officials said they were struggling to get information from the crew members, about how the ship ran aground, as there was a language barrier.
All 30 crewmen and a dog were rescued.
iWitness Dylan Culhane took these pictures.
