Naming new coach not a priority - Khoza
Orlando Pirates Chairman says the club could name its new coach before their pre-season kicks off in July.
JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates Chairperson Irvin Khoza on Monday said his club could name its new coach in July.
The Buccaneers will open their pre-season preparations with a Carling Black Label Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs on July 28.
The Buccaneers have been mentored by Augusto Palacios on an interim basis after Julio Leal's departure.
Pirates are on a brink of winning their second consecutive Premier Soccer League (PSL) title.
Khoza said discussions on a new coach will commence after the current season.
"At the moment, our focus is on the last game of the season against Golden Arrows."
Khoza added Pirates could be coached by a new man when they take on Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Cup.
Last week, Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Joseph said he wants Palacios to take over permanently.
The league will be decided on 19 May.
