8 die on WC roads

Eight people were killed on the Western Cape's roads over the weekend.

CAPE TOWN - Eight people were killed on Western Cape roads in the past 48 hours.

An accident on the R27 outside Langebaan claimed the lives of a family of seven people from St Helena Bay on Saturday night.

Four of them were children.

The car was travelling in the direction of Saldanha Bay, when it collided into the side of a truck that had turned to exit the R27.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said eight lives were lost in just two accidents.

"For this past weekend, we had two really bad accidents in the Western Cape. The first one was on Friday evening and seven people died in this accident."
