NCC strikes back at Levitt
The National Consumer Commission hit-back at Rael Levitt, for describing its findings as "biased”.
JOHANNESBURG - The National Consumer Commission (NCC) on Sunday hit-back at Auction Alliance's former CEO Rael Levitt, for describing its findings against him as "biased and incompetent".
The NCC found the auction house guilty of bid rigging and fraud, earlier this year.
It sentenced him to 12 months in jail or a R1 million fine.
In this week's Sunday Times newspaper, Levitt claims there were glaring irregularities in the commission's findings.
But commissioner Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi refuted Levitt's claims.
She told Eyewitness News : "We are always objective, we do not act on bias. We act on evidence and facts put before us.
"I would really like him to rather deal with the evidence, instead of coming-up with personal attacks," she added.
