CAPE TOWN - A Lavender Hill NGO on Friday said it is worried about yet another missing child case in the area.

Mohammad Haroon Jacobs was last seen playing outside his house in Ashley Court a week ago.

His mother alerted police on Sunday, but there has been no sign of the boy.

In March, eight-year-old Savannah Mersin's body was found in a shallow grave near Muizenberg.

She disappeared while walking home from school in Lavender Hill.

The New World Foundation's Llewellyn Jordaan believes the police can do more when investigating these cases.

"It is a concerning matter. I think basically the people do not expect miracles to be preformed, but the minimum they expect is good service delivery and I think that is what is lacking."

Jordaan said parents should not leave their children unattended for long periods.
