Jobs figures suggest 'economic recovery'
Statistics SA says the number of unemployed people stands at over 25 percent of the labour force.
JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's economy created nearly 70,000 jobs during April, the Adcorp Employment Index has found.
Earlier this week Statistics South Africa said the number of unemployed people stood at over 25 percent of the labour force.
Adcorp says while the number of jobs has grown overall, there were sharp decreases in the mining and manufacturing industries.
"These employment figures suggest that there is a domestic economic recovery of some strength currently going on," Adcorp's Loane Sharp.
