Alleged child rapist's bail to be opposed

An alleged rapist is linked to 36 cases of rape involving children.

An alleged child rapist will appear at the Alberton Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

JOHANNESBURG - The organisation Women and Men Against Child Abuse will oppose the bail application of an alleged child serial rapist from Thokoza on Wednesday.

The accused will appear at the Alberton Magistrate's Court.

The accused is linked to 36 cases of rape involving children between the ages of 11 and 14 years.

It is alleged, the man committed the crimes between 2006 and 2011, before his arrest earlier this year.

The organisation's Vincentia Dlamini said they were concerned about the safety of the victims.

"If we let him out, potentially he might rape other kids and he might terrorise kids not to testify against him."
