Racist tweeters to meet with DA
The DA has confirmed a meeting with two racist tweeters.
JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) confirmed on Tuesday, the two women who initiated a race war on Twitter over the weekend have accepted an invitation for an open discussion on racism.
Jessica Leandra dos Santos, a 20-year-old model, caused a storm when she used the "k" word to refer to an incident with a black man at a local store.
In retaliation, 21-year- old Tshidi Thamana blatantly stated she wished all white people were killed.
The DA's Mmusi Maimane wrote an open letter to both women earlier this week inviting them to his home to challenge their views.
"Ultimately this issue has to be about reconciliation," said Maimane.
"We have to make sure that as South Africans, we have to allow good to be triumphant.
"We have to follow Nelson Mandela's example."
A date for the meeting is yet to be confirmed.
