JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwean government officials are due to visit Brussels on Tuesday to discuss European Union (EU) sanctions.

In February, the EU lifted sanctions on 51 individuals.

But President Robert Mugabe and 112 Zimbabwean officials are still subject to sanctions, including the freezing of assets.

Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa said officials want to discuss the unconditional removal of sanctions.

Mugabe's close ally said six other ministers will visit Belgium at the invitation of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.

Chinamasa said they want the EU to extend the removal of all sanctions.

In February, the union said it wanted to see further progress in Zimbabwe, before sanctions are lifted.
