Lekota to visit Soweto over info bill
Mosiuoa Lekota will visit Soweto to educate residents about the Protection of State Information Bill.
JOHANNESBURG - Cope President Mosiuoa Lekota is set to visit Soweto on Sunday to educate residents about the proposed Protection of State Information Bill.
Dubbed "The stop the secrecy bill rally" campaign, the event will be held in Orlando East.
It is one of a number of campaigns held by opposition parties, in their hope to stop the controversial legislation from being passed into law.
The bill is currently before the national council of provinces' adhoc committee.
Opposition parties said the bill would allow the state to hide corruption and would discourage whistle blowing.
