ANC MP Florence Nyanda passed away in her home province of Mpumalanga on Saturday.
JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) MP Florence Ntombizodwa Nyanda passed away in her home province of Mpumalanga on Saturday.
Nyanda died after a long battle with illness.
This brings to three, the number of ANC leaders, who have died in recent days.
On Saturday, the country woke up to news that Public Service and Administration Minister Roy Padayachie had passed on.
Padayachie died in an Ethiopian hotel room on Friday evening, where he went to attend an African Union meeting.
News of Padayachie’s death came days after the passing of former Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Sicelo Shiceka.
Presidential spokesman Harold Maloka on Sunday said flags will fly at half mast across the nation, as of Monday.
Nyanda became a member of parliament in the National Assembly in 2004. She was involved in various parliamentary portfolio committees.
The late MP was an active member of the ANC Women’s League for years, and occupied many senior posts within its structures.
