Ban cellphones in schools - NASGB
The National Association of School Governing Bodies say cellphones are disruptive to learning.
CAPE TOWN - The National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB) on Friday said cellphones were disruptive to learning in schools.
The association wants mobile phones to be banned in places of learning.
It believes this will allow pupils to focus on their school work and will protect them against cyber-bullying.
NASGB's Matakanye Matakanye said, "To avoid all these complications, let's leave our cellphones at home."
Meanwhile, school pupils have used their cellphones to record school fights and corporal punishment.
