Moodliar returned home safely

Nayati Moodliar is back with his parents in Malaysia after being kidnapped.

CAPE TOWN - South African boy Nayati Moodliar who was kidnapped in Malaysia, has been returned safely to his family.

Moodliar's family said they were immensely relieved the 12-year-old was safe and sound.

The boy was kidnapped several days ago in Kuala Lumpur where his father Shamelin is working as a business consultant.

Family members said the boy has been taken to a hospital for a medical check up.

The exact circumstances surrounding his disappearance are still a mystery at this stage.

It's also unclear whether a ransome demand was met, to secure the boy's release.

Moodliar went missing while walking to school with his seven-year-old sister last Friday.

According to media reports, he was snatched by two unidentified men outside his Malaysian school.

After the kidnapping, the South African government called on Malaysian authorities to do everything in their power to find the 12-year-old.
