JOHANNESBURG - Soweto football giants Kaizer Chiefs could be charged with spectator misbehaviour and bringing the Premier Soccer League (PSL) into disrepute.

This after fans ran amok and threw missiles onto the pitch following their 2-1 loss to title contenders SuperSport

The incident took place at Soccer City in Soweto over the weekend.

Amakhosi fans also threw water bottles, ripped chairs off the stands, and threw vuvuzelas and cabbages onto the pitch.

Security personnel were forced to cover the tunnel, while police escorted players off the field.

This was their fourth consecutive defeat this season.

Chiefs were fined R500,000 for fan violence.

The team is expected to face a PSL disciplinary committee.
