Organisers of the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) on Sunday said they were impressed by the amount young talented performers who took centre stage at the 2012 festival.
The week-long event came to an end on Saturday with performers like Karen Zoid making her annual appearance.
Other artists who performed included the Parlotones and Freshly Ground.
KKNK Chief Executive Officer Brett Pyper said the festival was a great platform, where young artists, could make a name for themselves.
"I was excited that there was a production of younger professional artists from Stellenbosch, which is really a cutting edge social commentary and cabaret, which has received all kinds of nominations for awards. It was really exciting to see younger showcasing their talents."
The festival was first launched in 1994.
The annual event attracts a large number of artists and exhibitors.
The festival has boosted the Klein Karoo economically.
