Scales of justice

Muti killer Brian Mangwale has received a life sentence for murdering 10-year-old Masego Kgomo in Soshanguve.

He was sentenced in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday.

Relatives of his victim cheered as he was handed the sentence.

He also received six-years for kidnapping the girl.

The judge said Mangwale had shown no remorse, despite making a number of confessions about the murder.

He also maintained his innocence throughout the trial.

Evidence revealed that Kgomo was still alive when parts of her body were cut out, before being sold to a traditional healer.

Mangwale never told the court who else was involved in the murder and had joined the search for the young girl, even though he knew where his victim was.
