New Zealand rugby fans celebrated after the All Blacks managed to become World Cup champions for the second time since 1987.

They went up against France in a tight physical encounter in Auckland on Sunday.

These New Zealanders said their team deserved to win.

"I'm relieved and relaxed. I'm ready to celebrate," one man said.

"It's great for New Zealand," another supporter said.

Meanwhile, despite the Springboks' exit from the tournament, rugby fans still gathered at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town to watch the final.

"We told you we are the best", that is some of the comments made by All Blacks supporters as they celebrated their World Cup triumph.

Cape Town, known for its All Blacks supporters, outnumbered the French fans as they crammed in front of the giant screen in their black clothing.

However, it was hugs and jubilation from the All Blacks supporters when the referee blew the final whistle.

New Zealand and some people in Cape Town will savour this moment for the next four years.
